Jump Rope
Each morning, you can jump rope to immediately improve your mood.
Exercise is known to help boost mood levels. So, rather than stay in your bed
and give in to the temptation to sleep more, you should get up and start
jumping rope.
It is ideal to jump rope outside when the weather is nice and sunny. You can
jump rope as you admire nature and bask in the warm sunshine. If you prefer
to exercise indoors, you can jump rope to your favorite songs. A quick
session of this exercise is enough to get a full body workout.
Jumping rope helps improve your blood circulation. It does not have a lot of
impact on the joints and it can be performed anywhere. It is also way less
expensive than a gym membership since you only need to buy a jump rope.
Do Deskercises
Sitting for long periods of time is not healthy. It reduces your concentration
levels and makes you more prone to cancer, high blood pressure, bad
cholesterol, and cardiovascular diseases.
Fortunately, you can have a deskercise routine, which can help strengthen
your legs and arms. These parts of the body tend to weaken from prolonged
sitting. When you deskercise, you can stretch your spine, shoulders,
hamstrings, and arms. You can also work on your neck, core, wrists, and
ankles.
You can do as many exercises as you can. The key is to be physically active
throughout the day and avoid being sedentary.
Improve Your Flexibility
According to a study conducted at Harvard Medical School, stretching before
a workout session is no longer necessary. Experts recommend easy walks and
sport-specific routines as warm-up exercises.
These exercises can actually improve your flexibility, which in turn can
improve your health. Aside from these exercises, you can also improve your
flexibility by doing Pilates, yoga, or full body stretches. You can complete
these exercises within 5 to 10 minutes every morning.
The most ideal time to do flexibility exercises is when your muscles have
warmed up. You can go out for a walk before you start exercising. Make sure
that you also stretch for several minutes at the end of your routine.
Maintain Good Posture
Bad posture is connected to fatigue, migraines/headaches, and back pain. So,
when you maintain good posture, you may prevent and eliminate these
problems. It is important to work on your posture on a daily basis. You can
introduce small habits to your existing ones.
For example, when you stand in front of the refrigerator to grab a drink, you
can double-check your feet to ensure that they are positioned correctly. Then,
you should take deep breaths.
When you sit down at your workdesk, you can check to see if you are leaning
too far forward with your neck and head. Whenever you wait in line, you can
practice squatting.
Practice Meditation
Meditation improves your focus and blocks out distractions. Moreover, it
improves memory and creativity and reduces stress. As a beginner, you can
practice meditation for five minutes every day. Eventually, you can increase
your time for meditation.
Search for a quiet location to start meditating. Choose a place that is free
from distractions. Then, set a timer and meditate for five minutes. Sit down
on your mat, take deep breaths, and focus on the present moment. Every time
you catch yourself having unnecessary thoughts, simply acknowledge them
and then let go. Bring your focus back on meditating.
Practice meditation every morning or evening. The more you meditate, the
more you get used to doing it.
Have An Evening Shutdown Routine
Having an evening shutdown routine helps you get a good night’s sleep.
When you are well-rested, you can wake up the following day in a good
mood. This can cause you to have more energy and a clearer mind to tackle
challenges throughout the day.
Before you go to bed, you should avoid consuming alcohol or caffeine. You
should only drink water or cherry juice six hours before you sleep. Likewise,
you should avoid eating too much a couple of hours before you sleep.
In addition, you should avoid using your phone, laptop, or any other gadgets
before you sleep. Refrain from doing work in the bedroom as it should only
be for sleeping purposes. These activities can help you shut down properly
and feel relaxed when you sleep.
