Take A Shower Before Bedtime
According to researchers, taking a shower at night can help improve your
sleep. Dr. Dianne Augelli from the Center for Sleep Medicine at the New
York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center has said that it is best to
shower early in the evening or a few hours before you go to bed.
You need to allow your body to cool off. Take note that your body
temperature has a major role in circadian rhythm. So, you need to let your
body cool down and signify that it is time to sleep. When you interrupt the
process, you will find it more difficult to sleep. You can take a 20-minute
shower or even take a bath at night.
Microwave Your Kitchen Sponge
Professor Charles Gerba from the University of Arizona said that sponges are
full of germs. They provide a nurturing and damp environment for fecal
bacteria to fester. It is not even ideal to keep wiping your kitchen surfaces
because this only spreads the bacteria even further.
Sponges are often used in the kitchen. They often come in contact with raw
meat and vegetables, as well as eggs. Since it is not practical to keep buying
new sponges, you should learn how to clean them properly. To prevent germs
from spreading, you have to microwave your kitchen sponge for a couple of
minutes. Set your microwave on high to kill the pathogens in the sponges.
Apply Moisturizer
Men and women should form the habit of applying moisturizer every day.
You need to moisturize your face to keep it hydrated and fresh-looking. Soft,
elastic skin can make you look younger.
Look for a face moisturizer that contains at least SPF 15 sunscreen. Apply the
moisturizer on your face every single day, after shaving or showering. It is
ideal to apply moisturizer when the skin is still wet because the moisture
pulls the product more easily towards the skin.
Before you moisturize, however, see to it that you clean your face using a
mild cleanser. When you apply the moisturizer, you should do it using
upward strokes to cover up all your pores. The product will be absorbed by
your skin in 5 to 10 minutes.
